The Personality Coach, a Birkman Senior Consultant, uses The Birkman Method to guide individuals and organizations to achieve extraordinary results.
The Birkman Method is a proven, scientific personality assessment that positions individuals and organizations to achieve unprecedented levels of satisfaction and performance in their personal and professional pursuits. A wide range of related reports are generated from the assessment to facilitate team building, leadership development, personal development, career counseling, hiring, conflict resolution and enhanced interpersonal relationships.
Assessment
The Birkman Method begins with a 298-question, online questionnaire, which takes about 45 minutes to complete. The assessment combines motivational, behavioral and interest evaluations to generate one multi-dimensional and comprehensive analysis.
Results
The Birkman is distinguished by the breadth of findings it generates in your profile:
- Your usual behavior (your positive style/your visible strengths)
- Your motivational needs (which can be quite different than your usual style and may be invisible to others)
- Your likely stress behaviors when your needs remain unmet
Most personality assessments readily identify your “usual behavior.” Birkman takes results a step further by identifying your motivational needs and stress behaviors – information that is extremely valuable for your own self-awareness, for your personal relationships and for finding your ideal work environment.
The Birkman Method provides neutral language to discuss potential areas of conflict and differences in style with your manager, colleagues, partner or child. Without judgment, the reports show how you can operate mostly out of your strengths (usual behavior) and minimize and manage your stress behaviors.
One Assessment, Many Applications
Scores of reports can be generated from the data you provide in your one Birkman Method assessment.
Reports like “The Best Ways to Communicate With Me,” “Handling Conflict,” “Increasing Sales Effectiveness,” “Leadership Style,” “Needs at a Glance” and “The Job Search: My Strengths” contain specific, descriptive and actionable insight and advice for you and for those who interact with you, both at home and the office.
Reports like “Issues to Watch” and “Differences to Watch” overlay two individuals’ results to give practical information about their specific synergies and flashpoints. These reports can be useful for close colleagues and partners.
The Birkman continues to have relevance throughout your life. Once you have taken the test, you can use your results repeatedly as you encounter new situations, find yourself struggling, or consider changing your personal or professional direction.
